Ivana + Jan { Beautiful Maui wedding Elopement at Ironwoods Beach and Lava Rocks}

Ivana + Jan { Beautiful Maui wedding Elopement at Ironwoods Beach and Lava Rocks}

When Ivana and Jan got engaged in Italy, they didn’t rush to plan their wedding and definitely wouldn’t have predicted their Maui elopement. However, Jan was offered a job in San Francisco and the couple planned to move there from Prague. Before moving, they wanted to go on a nice vacation and chose Hawaii as their destination. It wasn’t long before they started joking that Maui would be the perfect place for romantic I Dos.

They had just one month to plan their spontaneous elopement, and after finding their ideal minister in Ernest Pua’a (Da Barefoot Warrior), Jan and Ivana decided to plan everything themselves. There were some twists and turns, being especially stressful when Ivana realized she didn’t have the six months required to order the dress that she loved, but in the end, everything turned out how it should. Ivana was so stylish in her two piece ensemble and unique jewelry, while Jan looked super dapper in his fitted blue suit and amazing beard.

Jan and Ivana approached me because they wanted something different from the typical beach wedding, which of course, I was totally game! Though we started the ceremony on the beach at Ironwoods, much of the session took place on the dramatic lava rocks. At first, they confessed that they were very shy and never thought they looked good on camera, but I thought, “what?!” They are stunning and soo in love that I almost didn’t have to give any direction at all. Ivana and Jan were so sweet and loving to each other, just being themselves, it was so charming to capture!

And the beautiful majestic architecture of the Church di not disappoint for the lovely and intimate ceremony. The off we headed to Hotel Wailea for a magnificent party where the gorgeous floral of Dellables transformed the room in such a classic yet modern style decor for the saloon. Boho Glam beach inpired editorial shoot in Maui shores

I'm absolutely over the moon to finally share my first editorial wedding inspiration and what a better way to start with the most sticking good looking soul surfer couple I’ve ever met. When I knew of Schell and Morgan crossing the ocean from California for a little Maui vacay and a 5 year Anniversary was just around the corner, I thought about the perfect excuse to make some magic happen to beat the drums for the occasion is the most fab way!

Inspiration came from a hand made vintage crocheted table cloth and naturally flowed into a beautiful boho chic style from there. I had envisioned and designed this amazing sexy wedding gown (yes finally all those years of watching project runway paid off!) and worked closely with Erica Goldsmith, owner of Couture Events in Maui to create this uber chic boho styled shoot, hair and makeup by the so talented artist Jessica Waite who's also such an amazing creative mind, and jewelry designer Sudaura Perreault. We wanted something romantic, bohemian, and with some chic sophistication on a Maui beach with the bright turquoise ocean as the backdrop. Adding custom made gold with white crystal jewelry from Sun-Dora really created a more glamorous bohemian look that we all loved.

The DIY pallet table rested on top of sheep skin rugs which created an fabulous romantic setting. A white muslin runner flanked the table which hosted a mix match of assorted vessels, some were DIY gold dipped vases, which added a modern and sophisticated touch to the bohemian woven candle holders. We also used antique amber vessels to hold bright romantic florals and added some local raw coconuts to give it a local flair. Cake Fanatics made a deliciously perfect hand painted mini cake set on top of a gold pineapple as the serving platter.
