Junko + Kentaro {Pink Maui Destination Wedding at Makena Golf & Beach Club}

Every state has its own symbols including flags, nicknames, animals, and flowers, but did you know that each Hawaiian island is represented by its own official color? Maui’s color is pink, and the island was just right for the romantic destination wedding of Junko and Kentaro.

Although this wedding featured shades of pink, it did not look overly feminine or frilly.  The wooden accents throughout the decor gave the whole scene balance. Plus the stunning landscape - all the different types of greenery, the glistening Pacific Ocean, and even the reddish brown of the Pu’u Olai Cinder Cone in the background - created the perfect natural canvas.

No detail was overlooked. The live music, lounge area, and hanging picture frames were added to make the guests feel more comfortable. Every single element worked together to keep the ambience fun, fresh, and elegant.

Junko radiated in a delicate lace dress with jewels that sparkled almost as bright as her eyes. Kentaro looked sharp in his blue suit and the smile did not leave his face. With all their loved ones by their sides, they came together as one under the Maui sun, and I don’t think they could have done it any better!

Lisa + Matt {Day After Wedding Hawaii Love Session at Ko Olina Beach, Oahu}

There's something magical that happens when a couple lets you into their world. I feel a bit like a spy who is being shown a very special secret, witnessing the emotion on their faces and the way they share their own love language. This magic happens most frequently when the couple is relaxed without a care in the world except enjoying each other's company, and Day After sessions are filled with these amazing moments.

Of course, don't get me wrong, the wedding day is spectacular in its own extraordinary way, but there is usually so much going on with tons of details and memories to document. We also have to be aware of a timeline and I would always want more alone time with just the couple.

I met up with Lisa and Matt after their Oahu wedding for more adventuring and I'm so thankful we did! Their beautiful love dazzled. Plus Lisa was able to have another gorgeous look. My hope for Lisa and Matt (and all my couples) is that wherever life's journey takes them, they will be able to look back at their photos of the fresh start of their marriage and be reminded of all the fluttery feelings and the reasons for their everlasting commitment.

Gena + Alex { Lovely tropical Hawaii backyard wedding Ohana style}

There’s something so personal about a backyard wedding. Usually it means that there hasn’t been very many (or any) other weddings there and you have close ties with whoever owns the property. In this case, Gena and Alex got married at a private residence of the parents of the groom. It especially meant a lot to Alex since this was the house he grew up in. To be surrounded by so many memories and then starting his marriage to Gena there was like coming full circle and set the tone for how much they wanted to focus on their ohana and make it a family-oriented wedding. Seeing how uniquely intimate this wedding was made me feel even more honored to fly over from Maui to Oahu to capture this gorgeous couple
