Casey + Gino { Elegant Vintage Inspired Hawaiian Affair at Olowalu Plantation House}

Olowalu Maui Wedding

From the moment I met Casey and Gino they were just a sparkle of glamour and everything amazing. I met them at their engagement session before their wedding, they were so cute, happy, sweet and beyond stylish. I got to really know them that day, I heard their story and truly established a friendship with them prior to their wedding day.

The day of the wedding at tropical Olowalu Plantation house was absolutely epic from start to finish. The first thing that really stood out to me about them on their wedding day was how much they value their family and friends, Everyone was so happy, warm and welcoming. It is truly hard to put into words how much joy you could feel throughout their entire day, and how much love every guest in attendance has for this cute boys.

My absolute favorite moment of Casey and Gino's day was when they walked down the aisle together. Casey started tearing up looking at Casey, and through the photos you can see the sparkle in their faces. You truly can feel the joy and love they share radiating through them.

Casey and Gino integrated the kids so beautifully by including them all as part of their processional, and immediately following the ceremony Casey and Gino went straight up to the children to start dancing and playing with them. I believe you can learn a lot about people by how they treat children, and even though this couple doesn't have kids of their own yet, the love and attention they gave all the kids spoke volumes to me.

The only only flowers the couple wanted in their ceremony was flower leis for all of their guests. The leis were draped over every guest's chair and they were all encouraged to wear them for the rest of the day. This small gesture added one more way of including every guest and showing how much the couple values each of them.

Another beautiful way that Casey and Gino included all of their guests was by having a small hula dancing lesson taught by Manutea E Nui following the ceremony. The dancing got all the guests involved and having fun! Manutea E Nui then performed a hula and fire dancing show for everyone following dinner.

It was such an honor to be such an integral part of capturing Casey and Gino's special day and documenting their love. Their love is contagious and inspiring, and everyone deserves a love like theirs.

Sabrina + Alana { Minimal and Romantic Maui Destination wedding at Steeple House, Ritz carlton and Merriman's kapalua}

Sabrina + Alana { Minimal and Romantic Maui Destination wedding at Steeple House, Ritz carlton and Merriman's kapalua}

When Alanna Smith walked out of the hot yoga class she had just taught back in the Fall of 2011, she spotted a gorgeous woman casually leaning against a wall. Immediately intrigued by the beauty in front of her, she proceeded to lose her footing over a pair of sneakers and fell into the wall.  Little did she realize, she had just fallen in more ways than one.

The woman in question was Sabrina Storozuk. β€œI knew instantly she was going to be trouble,” Alanna recalls, adding, "in the best possible way.” Sabrina, whose mutual friend had told her about Alanna, strategically placed herself outside of her class in order to meet her. Her first impression that fateful day: β€œA mixture of intrigue, combined with a touch of the awkward,” she states, fuelled in part by Alanna’s magnificent stumble.

The couple’s first date was an intimate dinner at home, arranged by Alanna. She prepared her homemade lasagne and served a chamomile grappa for dessert that she had recently brought back from a trip to Italy. As Sabrina, a self-described tech geek with no culinary aspirations or skills, puts it, β€œhow could one not fall in love with her?!” On New Year’s day, 2016, while on vacation in Maui, Sabrina proposed to Alanna in a hammock at the Ritz Carlton Kapalua. Several hours later, after an afternoon of surfing, the two knew this was the only place they wanted their wedding to take place - they saw it as a dream to have their friends and family all together in their happy place to witness their union.

Sabrina and Alanna's Hawaiian wedding took place last November, surrounded by pine trees, lush greenery, crashing waves and a big sky. As with many destination weddings, the gathering was an intimate group of 35 friends and family. Alanna and Sabrina opted for a formal wedding, but allowed their male guests to 'go local' and don traditional Hawaiian shirts. Right after the ceremony, the newlyweds arranged a coconut stand for their party, where freshly picked coconuts were trimmed with a machete, and then used as vessels for fresh coconut water, a strategic bit of hydration before the evening's libations. The wedding party then moved from the ceremony to Merriman’s, a well-known nearby restaurant famous for their cocktails, locally sourced ingredients and sunset views.
